Euphoric Flash is a photography project set up and run by the TSA and Brighton Photo Biennial.
An artist was commissioned to lead the project and to work with ten young people aged 14-19 to produce a series of images focussing on emotions and emotional well - being. These images were developed into an education pack. The pack is for teachers and youth workers to support young people to talk about emotions.
The young people have worked hard and with enthusiasm and have produced a powerful series of images. This process has offered them the opportunity to use SLR digital cameras, work on editing and digital imaging software, think creatively and develop their ideas into a final product. The young people have been at the core of editing decisions, choosing which images are used for the series and how the images are presented.
The peer education pack has been produced by the young people with the support of the lead artist, TSA staff and volunteers.
We will hold a celebratory launch of the work and the packs on March 26th 2008. The images will be shown as a large slide show and young people will showcase their work to their peers and families as well as other invited guests such as the Mayor.
The TSA hope to develop another series of images at a future date to add to the pack already developed.
